AI school metal detectors, which are being incorporated into Volusia County schools, are enhancing campus safety. Unlike traditional metal detectors, AI metal detectors “know” the difference between objects, better identifying potential threats. For example, an AI metal detector can tell the difference between a laptop and a knife or gun.
AI is also revolutionizing retirement living with the first of its kind AI-enriched senior living facility right here in Central Florida, where residents wear wristbands that unlock their front door for them, turn on lights as they enter and walk through their apartments (helping to eliminate the risk of falls), and monitor them overnight in order to detect unusual activity such as potentially dangerous wandering.
Not to mention AI software which can be used to acquire valuable wildlife research and improve conservation efforts. For instance, the AI sea turtle project which uses unmanned aircraft to identify species, gender, markings and more – all in an effort to perpetuate these treasured creatures.
