When in Doubt, Reboot!
Rebooting should always be the first step in trouble-shooting your electronic devices from your computers, to your phone, router and even your TV.
We’ve all had it – the scrunched up face of frustration when our computer is slow to load or keeps freezing. Temporarily shutting down to reboot may be just the solution. Think of rebooting your computer as a fresh start. It can correct errors, clear your RAM cache leading to improved performance and may even resolve hardware or peripheral issues…and unscrunch your face.
In the case of your phone, rebooting will clear out background apps which could slow things down, as well as help with memory, signal and performance.
Then there is your router, which also could use rebooting for optimal connectivity and speed. Rebooting your router may speed up your internet connection thereby providing a solution to slow loads and screen freezes. Here’s another thing that may interest you about rebooting your router. It may foil would-be hackers by severing any connection they may have established!
Additionally, just like any other electronic device, your Smart TV can experience minor hiccups which may be quickly and easily solved with a refreshing reboot. Power surges, installing new apps and simply streaming could all cause TV glitches. Rebooting your television will clear out temporary cache and enable you to take advantage of firmware updates to optimize your system. So, if your television is freezing or being otherwise obstinate, a reboot may be just what you need to get you back to binging!
