Why You Should Back up Your Data
Can you imagine losing all of the files stored on your computer? Just think of all the time it would take to recreate those files, and some files simply can’t be recreated. What would you do about them? There are so many ways you can lose your data:
- Your hard drive can fail.
- Your data can be corrupted for any number of reasons.
- A virus could infect your computer.
- Your computer could be lost, stolen or damaged.
If you are like most people, you have scads of photos, music, important documents and so much more on your computer. Don’t take a chance on losing everything. There is a simple solution. Start backing up your files today to save yourself hours upon hours of aggravation in the future.
It’s ideal if students can back up their assignments on a daily basis and employees can back up their projects daily as well, but – let’s face it – we don’t always live in an ideal world. A good rule of thumb in the real world is to back up as soon as you think you have reached a point where it would be difficult to recreate what you have not yet backed up.
There are several ways you can back up your files…to a network, to an external drive or to a third party back-up server. Computer “A” Services also provides back-up services. Our preferred back-up program is Carbonite. With the touch of a button, the Carbonite Server Back-up can recover anything from a single file to an entire system.
